SSC CHSL Exam Pattern


SSC has been one of the most desirable organisations for government exams in India. Every year thousands of vacancies are filled by SSC in government departments. Many of students want to crack the exam of SSC and want to get a most respected job & white collar job. There for here I will Provide you all the information related to SSC Exams.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern

The Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:
1 Tier-I: Computer Based Examination
2 Tier-II: Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
3 Tier-III: Typing Test/ Data Entry Skill Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification.

In Tier-I, there will be negative marking of 0.50 for each wrong answer.

Tier-I will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi except for English Comprehension.

After this exam SSC Published Cut off list of SSC CHSL Tier-I category wise.
After clearing this stage i.e. Tier-I now you are eligible for next stage Tier-II.

The Paper in Tier-II will have to be written either in Hindi or in English. Part paper written in Hindi and part in English will be awarded zero marks.

The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33 per cent

Candidates are strictly advised not to write any personal identity e.g. name, roll number, mobile number, address, etc inside the Answer Book (Tier-III). The candidates who fail to adhere to these instructions will be awarded zero marks even if marks are awarded during the evaluation process.

After this exam SSC Publishes Combined Cut off of SSC CHSL Tier-I+II category wise.
After clearing this stage i.e. Tier-II now you are eligible for next stage Tier-III i.e. Skill Test (DEST & Typing Test).

Scheme of Tier-III Exam (Skill Test):

Skill Test/ Typing Test for the qualified candidates will be conducted on computers provided by the Commission or its authorized agency.
Skill Test/ Typing Test will be conducted in the cities where Regional Offices of the Commission are located or as decided by the Commission.
Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying nature.
Errors in the Skill Test will be calculated up to 2 decimal places.
Skill Test/ Typing Test will be conducted as per the following scheme:

In the Tier-III, Typing Test or Data Entry Skill Test will be conducted.

Data Entry Skill Test (DEST):-

For the post of

Data Entry Operator Grade „A‟ in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG)

Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (eight thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer. The „Speed of 8000 key depressions per hour on computer

Typing Test:-

For the post of

LDC/ JSA and
Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant:

The medium of Typing Test will be Hindi or English. The candidates will have to opt for the medium of Typing Test (i.e. either Hindi or English) in the online Application Form.
The choice of Typing Test given by the candidate in the online Application Form shall be treated as final and no change in the medium of Typing Test will be entertained later.
Candidates opting for English medium should have typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) and those opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per minute (w.p.m.). 35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. correspond to about 10500 key depressions per hour and about 9000 key depressions per hour respectively.
The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the Computer of a given text passage in 10 minutes

And after this SSC call students for Documents Verification.

Document Verification:-

This the last process of SSC CHSL requirements in this stage only those candidates are appear who are qualified all their tiers as well as skill test. At the time of your Document Verification you will be fill the post preference order and Department preference for LDC Post of those are given in SSC CGL Notification.

While giving preference of the posts/ Departments either online before DV or at the time of Document Verification, You may note that the Ministerial Posts are available in Delhi so if you want or not want to live in Delhi then you fill your preferences according to your choices.

After the documents verification SSC publishes the final cut and final selected list of candidates.
